چکیده
Magnetic excitation of the iron-based superconductor parent compound BaFe2As2 at finite temperature are addressed with a first-principles formulation of the Helmholtz energy, which can account for the finite temperature mixture of many magnetic configurations. We find that it is the spin exchange coupling in the interplane c direction that dictates the spin density wave ordering. We have also quantitatively predicted the pressure dependence of the spin density wave ordering temperature, the Schottky anomaly, and the temperature dependence of thermal populations of several low-energy spin configurations, all in agreement with available experimental data. Magnetic excitation spectra in BaFe2As2: a two-particle approach within a combination of the density functional theory and the dynamical mean-field theory method.
We study the magnetic excitation spectra in the paramagnetic state of BaFe(2)As(2) from the ab initio perspective. Both the one-particle and the magnetic two-particle excitation spectra are determined within the combination of the density functional theory and the dynamical mean-field theory method. This method reproduces all the experimentally observed features in inelastic neutron scattering ...

Since the discovery of the metallic antiferromagnetic (AF) ground state near superconductivity in iron pnictide superconductors1–3, a central question has been whether magnetism in these materials arises from weakly correlated electrons4,5, as in the case of spin density wave in pure chromium6, requires strong electron correlations7, or can even be described in terms of localized electrons8,9 s...
متن کاملDirect characterization of photoinduced lattice dynamics in BaFe2As2
Ultrafast light pulses can modify electronic properties of quantum materials by perturbing the underlying, intertwined degrees of freedom. In particular, iron-based superconductors exhibit a strong coupling among electronic nematic fluctuations, spins and the lattice, serving as a playground for ultrafast manipulation. Here we use time-resolved X-ray scattering to measure the lattice dynamics o...

The crystal structure and physical properties of BaFe2As2, BaCo2As2, and BaNi2As2 single crystals are surveyed. BaFe2As2 gives a magnetic and structural transition at TN = 132(1) K, BaCo2As2 is a paramagnetic metal, while BaNi2As2 has a structural phase transition at T0 = 131 K, followed by superconductivity below Tc = 0.69 K. The bulk superconductivity in Codoped BaFe2As2 below Tc = 22 K is de...
متن کاملSplitting of resonance excitations in nearly optimally doped Ba(Fe0.94Co0.06)2As2: an inelastic neutron scattering study with polarization analysis.
Magnetic excitations in Ba(Fe0.94Co0.06)2As2: are studied by polarized inelastic neutron scattering above and below the superconducting transition. In the superconducting state, we find clear evidence for two resonancelike excitations. At a higher energy of about 8 meV, there is an isotropic resonance mode with weak dispersion along the c direction. In addition, we find a lower excitation at 4 ...
